Nowadays, in our 21st century, one can still come across one of the main ancient symbols of what is termed “sacred geometry”, in particular the one indicated with the term “Flower of Life”, for example carved into a stone tile on display in the great mezquita of Córdoba, Andalusia (al-Andalus/Sefharad), España. One can find the Flower of Life symbol just as well on an external wall of a very old house tucked away in some side street in the old town of Lucca, Italia.
The Hebrew name for the Spanish region which once fell under Muslim Moorish dominion, was “Sefharad”, Hebrew for “green end” or “paradise”. This region in what is now España for sure was a paradisiacal place under the descendants of Abd Al-Rahman when Muslim, Christian and Jewish groups lived together, and tolerance and respect for one another, and therefore peace, resulted in a Garden of Eden on Earth.
A visit to the abovementioned mezquita or to Medinat A Zahara/Madinat al-Zahra, a once luxurious settlement now in ruins that served as a luxury retreat for the rulers of the region, shows how intricate and high standing this culture and period was.
This is just one example in the world of Matter of what “peace” inside a human realm can lead to.
The Egyptian culture also blossomed once the two Egypts, Upper and Lower, were united and strife and violence was replaced with unity and peace inside the realm.
The Chinese Middle Kingdom at times was also a collection of warring cities and states. Once these were united, the same story of high standing culture and achievements appeared
Why these references to such high standing cultures of humanity as an introduction to this chapter on Sacred Geometry, and what it symbolises?
These examples of peace in the outer world are a good example of how inner peace – i.e. inside each human being between the rational and the emotional, between the left side and the right side (of the brain and body), between the masculine and the feminine – can lead to a garden of Eden for each human in his or her individual life.
Indeed, the aforementioned realms came at times under attack from outside forces, sometimes from resurfacing internal strife, and eventually succumbed.
Just as well each human individual is surrounded by other humans who are at times not respectful of the “boundaries” of that person, e.g. a tyrannical boss, a gossiping acquaintance or neighbour, a so-called “high maintenance” love interest and undoubtedly, dear reader, you can come up with some examples yourself. However, it is up to each and every one of us to try and overcome these energetic “incursions” and maintain the inner peace instead of being overwhelmed by our emotional state, or taking an ice-cold rational approach to what we feel and experience in such situations and completely ignore and suppress these states.
Know that these other people hold up a mirror for you, they are connected to you, so you can acquire deeper insights into yourself, your own functioning and how you think and feel about everything in your world and life.
Easier said than done?
For sure, it takes practice, practice, practice.
Acceptance is however the first action to be taken; know and accept what you are feeling and/or thinking. Respect this, and then set out on an introspection tour leading you to the why of what you are experiencing and/or thinking. In most cases, you will notice it is a recurring theme, ever so slightly different from a previous event but at base the very same experience or thought.
When one understands that one is a powerful co-creator of it all, life can be so much easier.
Like a magnet you (will) attract to you what you radiate. You can consciously change what you radiate and, hence, attract.
This aspect of co-creator and entangled-ness of everyone and all, and the “magnetic” attractions leading to human interactions and situations, are what the symbols of Sacred Geometry are all about.
