There are said to be Seven Seals sealing a Gate; and there are
*seven portals depicted in a concentric fashion in an inconspicuous chapel in Karnak (Egypt). The chapel stands in the East sector of the Karnak temple complex with this sector being dedicated to Osiris, the God of the Hereafter-Paradise and Judge over the dead. Moreover, the chapel was dedicated to one peculiar and particular form of Osiris, i.e. Osiris Heqa-Djet, on which more below;
*references to a “Sevenfold-one-are-ye” deity in the religions of the Assyro-Babylonian empires which flourished in one of those other grand cradles of human civilisation that is Mesopotamia, in what is in current days described as the “Middle East”. The substance and meaning of this deity is still unclear and debated. Furthermore, in these religions depictions of a ‘sacred tree’ (flanked on both sides by winged deities) were also used, with flowers or leaves consisting of seven petals. The meaning conveyed through this symbolic should be clear after reading this book;
*seven candles on the massive Menorah which stood in the last great Temple of Judaism in Yerushalaim (Jerusalem). The temple was destroyed in 70 CE and the Menorah was carried off as bounty by the Romans as depicted on the inside wall of the Arch of Emperor Titus still standing in Rome. This sevenfold finds an echo in the seven candle holders standing on many a Christian altar, whereby the middle one is often replaced by a crucifix;
*seven archangels in Christianity, and seven gifts of the Holy Spirit;
*seven heavens in Islam, and Muslims having to walk seven times around the Ka’bah in the holy city of Mekka (Saudi-Arabia);
*seven primal chakras in Hinduism;
*seven concentric mountain chains surrounding Mount Meru, situated at the centre of the spiritual Universe of Buddhism, with seven oceans separating these seven mountain chains.
And there are seven main directions, i.e. North and South, East and West, Above and Below, and the Centre. In some religious views the world is stated to be created in seven days, man created in seven stages. Furthermore, there are seven main principles or truths according to the Hermetic writings which are said to give the holder of the seven the key to open the gates of the divine temple. There are seven main chambers or houses in that most extraordinary Neolithic site that is Skara Brae (United Kingdom), on which more below. One could go on stating the use of, and reference to, seven items of the utmost importance in the world religions of today and in religions long forgotten by now. But next to all these references in and of religion,
note that there are SEVEN MAIN COLOURS in the vast colour pallet perceptible to the human eye!
The first paragraphs of this chapter are introductory paragraphs sketching a number of items for you to consider, to arrive at and continue with the basic message of this chapter which concerns the so-called “base of 4” and the “top of 3”, as the two components of the 7 Seals referred to in the title of this chapter.
And that our ancestors understood the importance of the “4” and the “3” in Creation will be made clear throughout this chapter using references to the knowledge and teachings of the ancients of different periods of time and different geographic regions.
